Konnichiwa!

This week I went to the Tokyo day event held in London’s Westminster with Lou bear, Dada, CoolMarvin and Margie-poo. It was brilliant! something I shall definitely remember for a long while yet. The journey down was hectic as usual, I do so hate London really, at one point we were all at the tube and we looked round and I said where is Marvin and then everyone turned to see him just strolling down the stairs cool as you like (when we had all ran to try and catch the tube) Naturally we missed it as the doors closed just as he ‘finally’ got to the platform and we didn’t let him live it down. Mind you my bad for the day was having everyone order smoothies because it was a cold day and our hands literally turned to icicles. It was however a brilliant day just look at the location shots we got.

At the venue we got given surveys and had to fill them out for free goodies which we proceeded to do only to be told we had to bring them back ‘after the event’…so we did only to be told all the goodies had gone…I wasn’t at all pleased. I really wanted the unending can opener, Lou wanted the unending pea popper.) We also got to attend a sushi making class and even got to taste the sushi. It was amazing watching a master at work, he was so fast he always left you wondering ‘how on earth…!’

We also got to see silk painting it was amazing.

Oh and least I forget we got to play the drumming game, naturally Lou was brilliant at it but it was so embarrassing having to do it in public. I was trembling afterward. How do stage artists do it? all those eyes…watching you…mind you I also felt a sense of accomplishment. Haha yes, I know what you are thinking. Sad isn’t it. I must not forget to tell you all about the Calligraphy class we got to do as well, writing with brushes is harder than it would initially seem. You hold and write so differently to the norm. However I think I did really well, Lou must have been in his element, I think the only newbies were me, Dada, Margie and Marvin. At the end we all got to write our names in Japanese, something I have naturally kept a hold of. Oh gosh I am forgetting the Origami class, Margie was absolutely in her element there, she seems so serenely happy.

There were also quite a lot of books and freebies, stickers and all sorts to pick up, it was like a freebie wonderland. There were also big pictures up to take pictures in front of which were free so we got a copy for each of us….might be able to find that too. Look, it looks like Margie-poo’s actually there in Tokyo! and here’s a picture too of some of the toys we saw. Thinking on it now I should have taken pictures of the sumo exhibit.

Ah, we met Akemi Solloway again, we always see her at conventions, such an elegant lady with so much knowledge so we talked to her a while outside when we went to look for some food to eat. We also got to watch Astroboy in the little cinema set up in the hall, I mean the very old Astroboy wow it was old I couldn’t help but chuckle, there was another show that made absolutely no sense but I do believe Lou is telling me he has a video of it haha. It was priceless, made no sense and the names were absolutely ludicrous. One of the mecha things was called Devil Satan something or the other, we had a good laugh at that. To be fair they had quite a decent amount of animes on.

On stage there as a lovely lady who did paper cuttings and made them into pretty pictures I could say more but then we would be here all day and there is so much more to tell besides but lets just say it was a fabulous day and I would recommend going should there be another one…and there probably will for it was packed. The journey home was troublesome mind you, got on the wrong tube and naturally we were so tired then that such minor things become such a source of irritation at one’s self.

I’m sitting drinking a cup of tea now, I was glad to be home it had been a hectic if enjoyable day and as you can tell, lots happened, this is the condensed version…and last but not least…the tube system on a weekend=chaos.

(TL:DR) it was an awesome day now simply look at the pictures for an even shorter tale.

It seems to me that this new year has been all about snow, snow and more snow. I mean it’s currently still snowing at present. Brrrr! I hate snow so much! *shakes fist* (all I can do really, aside from giving it evil looks, which are about as effective as shaking my fist at it by and by). I ought to catch a picture of it really, nothing quite like seeing it I think.

The Snow Lady I made has melted now, it’s currently being snowed upon but luckily I have pictures of it still and I’ll add them to the post later. There was a sneaky sense of mischieviousness while making her bosom…haven’t giggled that much at work for a long while. Having braved the cold in my flimsy dress I found despite the fact that I hated snow and the fact that it was bitterly cold, the fun eclisped it all. Best break ever!

Here she is…

Mayhaps this new year won’t be all bad and mayhaps it will I don’t know, but whatever happens, lets take it by the horns and make of it what we can. I might get the job of my dreams, I might be able to do what I love everyday, I might even be able to do something worthwhile….and I might not but I’ld like to hope that I will and I think maybe that’s what new year’s are all about. The indominable desire to dream of something better and if but for a moment believe that it’s possible before reality comes along to intrude on something beautiful. This time, I should definately not turn round again to find I haven’t really moved at all…

Have a lovely 2010 won’t you! (even the number is cool, it’s just got to be brilliant)

Today was brilliant, the sun shone, oh it was so warm! Lou and I went down to Sunbury on an flat search. We got to see two properties and settled on the first one we had seen. It wasn’t anything to write home about from the front. We also weren’t that impressed going into the place (being the clean freak I am I felt the carpets needed a good clean and a hoover besides) but oh wow inside…inside was beautiful. Most impressive indeed. It came with beautifully large windows and the master bedroom was huge, the whole place was so spacious that Lou has nicknamed it our TARDIS.

On our way back home we decided to spend the day in Windsor and wasn’t it pretty. It seemed that there were lots of things going on there this weekend. We found some people dressed up at a table with colouring crayons and paper for the children, it seems it was all about King Henry and his 6 wives. During our little excursion round Windsor we had a little nosey at the palace and also popped into the shops. We also came across a little market stall with various produce, it smelt divine! Here are some of the pictures we took.

Here’s the Market stall we found, if you think the pictures look yummy you should have smelt the air.

And if after all that you need a mint well, Windsor had that covered too…

It was an absolutely lovely day out and I enjoyed it immensely as you can tell for all the pictures we took. I loved the TicTac car though, I did think it was brilliant, I mean look at it. It’s awesome.

Lou says; ‘It looks like that car was in mint condition’

I’ve drawn a picture for today. Shall I share it with you…?

eae

Say Hello to Eae. She’s an angel from Mango Mango just showing her support for team girl!

Now I really ought to go study. Please do enjoy.

Today had to have been the worst weather we’ve had in a god few days, nay weeks. It rained continuously through out the day. I had initially hoped the rain would clear for my trip home because unfortunately (today anyway) I’m a bicycle rider and that means getting royally soaked through and through when the heavens decide to open. Thankfully though the receptionist was ever so nice, she found me some waterproofs and promptly bundled me up in them at the reception desk which I actually quite liked. I’ll be honest. There was a certain feeling of ‘being taken care of’ that I hadn’t felt in awhile. It was like having a mommie, wait while I bask in the feeling….

So once bundled up in this ginormous Hi-Vis jacket zipped up to my chin and the hood firmly fitted round my head thanks to our receptionist I promptly rode home. I still got wet mind you, because I was in my riding shorts haha. At least the top half of me stayed dry. I can’t say the same for my shoes though, they ended up drenched so in front of the heater they went when I got home (so very happy to arrive home). They still look in a sorry state, they are my favourate and pink too. Never mind though because once my legs and face were dry and the heater was on it didn’t feel too bad anymore. Dinner made it even better, I made something akin to lightly fried salmon ramen. Oh it was good, I’m so sorry, I was to take a picture but I scoffed the lot before realising. Don’t worry though, here’s the empty plate.

See, I do think of you. To think you thought me selfish. It was so tasty…did I mention it was tasty!? It made me extremely thirsty though for some reason and I’ve had four glasses of water so far and I’m on my next one. I also had some strawberry milk with it too!

Now I’m all snuggled in bed toasty warm, happy and apparently watching High School Musical…my verdit still remains the same I’m afraid, High School Musical isn’t at all that great. However having enjoyed a good episode of Doctor Who earlier, as well as being full and warm, I am too comfortable to worry about changing the channel.

really hope it doesn’t rain tomorow…
